這是迪士尼早期的懷念經典短片《醜小鴨》，如詩如畫的背景及美妙感人的故事令人動容。編劇將安徒生所創的《醜小鴨》故事改編，變得更溫馨逗趣。醜小鴨在尋找母親的過程中頻頻碰壁，在經歷過幾次的心靈璀殘後終於忍不住放聲大哭，很幸運地，一群小天鵝與天鵝母親來到，醜小鴨終於找到屬於自己的家‥
安徒生說：「只要你曾經在一顆天鵝蛋待過，就算你生在養鴨場也沒什麼關係。」表現出安徒生在同世俗偏見抗爭中的性格和信念。在這立足點平等的社會，「妄自菲薄」是不被允許的。面對挫折或不被肯定時，不要失去信心，也許你是一隻被誤認為醜小鴨的美麗天鵝。
